Our tour to the Enchanted City and Uña Lake is the best way to discover the astonishing fall colors in the mountain region of Cuenca.

We´ll pick you up with our comfortable Mercedes Benz 9-seater Van at your Accommodation or Ave Train Station.

Itinerary Enchanted City and Uña Lake

We first drive to the Enchanted City. Here the strange forms of the limestone rocks, caused by the Karst Erosion, will bewitch you during the 90 minutes hiking trip. The trail runs through a wood of magnificant specimens of black pines. Discover the enchanted forms hidden behind the rocks: geology, fauna, flora, and above all, let your imagination fly!

We continue to the Uña Lake and the village of the same name. Here we make a hiking tour that takes about one and a half hours along the trail around the lake. The beautiful autumn colors of the poplar, oaks and chestnut trees contrast with the normally blue sky and the lake. A superb place to get amazing photographs!

Depending on the weather conditions and the season it´s possible to observe the amazing flight of the griffon vultures and all types of other rock and aquatic birds (mainly wintering birds). Binoculars are available for spotting the birds in their natural habitat.

After the visit we have lunch at a local restaurant with typical Spanish Food. IMPORTANT: Lunch is not included in the rates of this excursion.

After lunch we drive back in the direction of Cuenca, following the Jucar River. Before arriving at Cuenca, we make a stop at the Devils Window, a stunning view over the Jucar River Canyon.

About the Colors in Autumn

We cannot guarantee that the colors of the images showed here will be exactly the same as when you will be visiting Cuenca. It is difficult to know what is the perfect moment for this experience, because every year the clime and the wheather are different,…

The Tour ends at the original Departure point. The excursion starts at 09:30 am. If you are travelling the same day by train to Cuenca, please make sure you will arrive before 09:30 am. If you have to go back after this trip to another destination, please check the possible train schedules!!!
